South Korean company Samsung has started working on the development of 6G internet at the time when even 5G internet is not commercially viable now. Samsung plans to complete the construction of 6G internet infrastructure and bring it into commercial use by 2028. By 2030, 6G internet will be widely used in the world. In May 2019, Samsung had established the Advanced Communication Research Center and began work on developing 6G Internet. Research by the same research centre has made such a projection about the future of 6G internet. According to Samsung, 500 billion devices will be connected to 6G internet worldwide by 2030. Until then, mobile phones will be available using various technologies, including augmented reality glasses, virtual reality headsets and holograms. For multimedia devices such as the immersive XR, mobile holograms and digital replicas, 6G high-speed internet will be essential. The peak data speed of 6G connectivity is expected to be 1000 gigabits per second which will be 50 times faster in 5G in comparison. Currently, 5G's peak data speed is 20 gigabits per second. To expand network coverage, the 6G network will use the terahertz frequency band. Along with 6G, wireless communication technology is expected to use artificial intelligence. At a time when the commercialization of 5G internet in the world is at a very early stage, it is not unreasonable to start preparations for 6G. But according to Sunghyun Choi, head of Samsung's Advanced Communications Research Center, it will take at least 10 years to develop and commercialize the 6G network, so it is important to start preparing for 6G now.
